"All In" - Jennifer Lynn Barnes

All In (The Naturals, #3)All In by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Title : All In
Author : Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Publication Date : November 2015
Genre: Young Adult/Paranormal/Mystery/Thriller

My Rating: 4.5 Stars

My Review:

Very rarely have I ever read a book that was just completely average until the very last five pages. And in those five pages, the entire book blows my mind. Like, totally-dumbfounded-top-of-my-head-blown-off-mouth-left-hanging-wide-open. I mean, I can't even think of five times that this has even happened to me while reading a book, but here we are.

Barnes delivers a sucker punch to the gut third installment in her The Naturals series. Like most, if not all, of her novels, the characters are written well and have extreme depth and dimension. The actual plot is pretty good as well, although it follows the same type of occurrences as the first two books, but that's to be expected of a crime solving group of teens. It's really the ending that's going to get you. I'm serious.

I'm so stuck on how freaking jaw dropping amazing the ending was, that not much else compares or competes throughout the entire book. I'm extremely excited to see where this takes us in the next book in this series.

Genre : Fanasty

My Rating: 5 Stars

My Review:

After finishing the last page of this book, I was left with one coherent thought : What is wrong with me?

Why did I ask myself that? Because, I just don't know why it took me this freaking long to pick up this book. I'm serious here people. I'm baffled. I have no idea why I haven't devoured this book sooner, but, now that I have, consider me hooked.

This story... My god, this story! I'm left speechless trying to sing its praises. I just don't know how to quite put into words just how amazing this book is.

It's phenomenal. Epic. The reason that the fanasty genre exists. Mind blowingly fantastic.

That is how I would describe this book. Not even for a second will you find yourself trudging through this book trying to get past a certain part. Instead, you will find yourself captivated with each chapter, paragraph, sentence, word.

This is the absolute best example of the fanasty genre and the author is, by far, a stunning example to her peers.

Grab this book, clear your schedule, and hold onto your seats as you drive into this richly woven tale of magic, adventure, love and above all, fighting for something greater than yourself.

My Review:

I have been waiting on pins and needles for the fourth installment in this series and it surely did not disappoint.

This is just one of those series that I'm completely hooked on. I absolutely love the characters and the storyline is just phenomenal. I'm always left wanting more. I need more of Ash and Piper in my life. They are such a freaking amazing duo and honestly, the best romantic kick butt paranormal team that I've read about.

I just can't wait for the final installment to be released on March. If you are looking for a new series to be captivated by, go ahead and pick up this series!

"Aranya" - Marc Secchia

Aranya (Shapeshifter Dragons, #1)Aranya by Marc Secchia
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Title: Aranya
Author: Marc Secchia
Publication Date: June 2014
Genre: Fanasty

My Rating: 2 Stars

My Review:

I was very graciously given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review.

I loved the idea of this book. I loved the characters (mostly). I even loved the plot
What I could not absolutely stand was the actual writing. This book became an enormous headache for me to read due to the authors writing.

I feel compelled to further explain. So I'll try. One second, the writing was so in sync with everything... I mean, everything was flowing along so flawlessly and this book was making me think I just found my next epic fanasty read. Then, BAM.... the writing became riddled with archaic sentences and twisted with riddles. I seriously felt like a completely different author wrote it from that point on.

It was completely ruined for me.

"Moonbreeze" - Adrienne Woods

Moonbreeze (The Dragonian, #4)Moonbreeze by Adrienne Woods
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Title: Moonbreeze
Author: Adrienne Woods
Publication Date: November 2015
Genre: New Adult/Fanasty

My Rating: 5 Stars

My Review:

This is the fourth installment of this series and it happens to be one of my favorite series by one of my must read authors.

It's a grand slam of a book. It's absolutely everything I've come to expect from Ms. Woods and so much more. I, for one, was absolutely thrilled with how this book crossed over from the young adult genre into new adult and dark fanasty. Woods executed this crossover with such finesse and it spoke volumes to her stunning ability as an author.

The characters are so gritty and raw in this book compared to her other ones and I finally feel as of Elena had morphed into something that I can only describe as a freaking beautifully damaged and strong hurricane of a character.

The storyline in this book is what we've all been waiting for. Dark, beautiful and riddled with action, adventure, and even more heart breaking scenes.

I'm absolutely floored with how breathtaking and soul wrenching this book was for me. I can barely contain my excitement for the next and last installment on this series.

Bravo, Ms. Woods, bravo!

"Hope's Decree" - Angela McPherson

Hope's Decree (The Fated #1)Hope's Decree by Angela McPherson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Title: "Hope's Decree"
Author: Angela McPherson
Publication Date: August 2013
Genre: Young Adult/Fanasty/Mythology

My Rating: 4 Stars

I was so very lucky to be given a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

The book gods have looked down upon me and seen the horrible strife I've been muddling through with one awful young adult/fanasty book after another. Yes, they looked down upon me and decided to spare me. The delivered unto me a shining jem called "Hope's Decree".

If you can't tell by the overly dramatic rendition of the above paragraph, I found this book to be beyond stellar. Seriously, the cover and the description just do not do this book any justice. Actually, if I had just seen the cover and read the description on my own time and I had not been given a copy of this book, I actually don't think I would have read it. Thank goodness fate intervened and a copy of this book fell into my lap!

I'm sure all my fellow readers are aware that this genre is quickly becoming worn out with awful, unoriginal stories that make you cringe while reading them; so to find a fresh, original book like this, is a rare occasion indeed.

The author writes a fantastically creative and captivating storyline. I was thoroughly impressed with how she took the 'Pandora's Box' theme and somehow made it completely new and intriguing. Seriously, hands down, this has got to be one of my favorite spins on old school mythology.

The characters are so freaking intense and they play off of each other magnificently. Both Morpheus and Blain have a starring slot on my 'bookshelf boyfriends' shelf. Although, is it so wrong that I really wanted Morpheus to be the 'one'? I think I just like to be contradictory, honestly. Anyways, they are both amazing, you feel me, love? ;)

The only reason that this book rated at 4 Stars instead of 5 Stars was actually due to the back and forth complete indecision of Trinity and Blaine's romantic(or perhaps not so romantic) relationship. It was almost like watching a ping pong tournament on crack. I think I got whiplash trying to keep up with them.

All in all, this was a very fun and exciting read and I can't wait to see what else I can discover from this author.
